About The Play
It’s 1958. Gillian Holroyd is a modern-day witch living in Manhattan. Handsome publisher Shep Henderson has just moved into the apartment above hers, and he catches her eye.

When she learns that he is marrying her college rival, Gillian casts a love spell on Shep and he immediately falls head over heels in love with her. But witches, unfortunately, cannot fall in love, and this complication leads to a number of entanglements before they find out if they can live happily ever after.

This is the Broadway play that spawned the Hollywood classic movie starring Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart.
BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. (www.dramatists.com)
